Hello Wine lovers,

I am toying with the idea of doing a high end private tasting Saturday, November 15th from 7-10pm.

I was talking to a friend of mine who owns Merchant of Vino Distributing and he came up with this great idea to host a private tasting here at The Wine Behren. As you all know I just got done with my second Wine Maker Dinner which was a success. My wife told me I can not do another dinner until Febuary so this idea with the private tasting was perfect.

We will have 6 high end wines. Right now we are looking at 3 top Napa producers, Clark Claudon, Cornerstone, and Martin Estate. Along with 3 top Australian Shirazs. Torbreck, Poonawatta, and Langmeil. Average bottle cost will be between 75.00 and 105.00.

So, tickets will be about 50.00 per person and I am only going to sell 25 of them. So, if you are interested please let me know and I will reserve a spot for you.

You can call me at 503-359-1967 or email me at scott@thewinebehren.com.

Thanks.
Scott

Wine Tastings

Hey wine lovers,

Tomorrow is Friday so you all know what that means. Yep. Wine Tasting at The Wine Behren.

Friday Night we have Wines from Herdade do Esporão, Alentejo, Portugal

Alandra White: Very bright modern herby edge to the nose. Herby and fresh on the palate, this is interesting, modern stuff. Successful. Very good $10.00

Reserva White :Very attractive full, nutty nose with some well integrated oak. Attractive nutty palate is quite rich and ripe with a coconutty edge. Very attractive stuff, if a bit oaky. $14.00

Aragones (Tempranillo): The resultant Aragonês is a rich, full bodied wine with strong varietal character. It shows complex fruit and spicy oak flavours on the palate, with good depth and a firm tannic structure. $17.00

Touriga Nacional: Enticing nose of ripe, sweet plummy blackberry and raspberry fruit, with some spicy oak notes. Palate is concentrated with lots of pure, sweet blackberry and raspberry fruit, together with high acidity and some more spicy oak. Quite tannic at the moment, this is a forward, attractive wine that should age well. $17.00

Reserva Red: Made with Trincadeira, Aragonês and Cabernet Sauvignon, with 20 yr old vines, this is the flagship wine of the company, matured in new American oak barrels for 12 months, followed by 12 months in bottle. $19.00

Private Selection: Made with Alicante Bouchet and Aragonês, 30 yr old vines, this top red wine is matured in new French oak for 18 months, followed by 12 months in bottle. $51.00
